Back when
Mark and I were starting our online
radio station, I discovered a radio
single from a group called Vocal Union.
I couldn't believe how great this a
cappella group was and how they seemed
to sing Southern Gospel Music so very
well! Recently, they sent me some
more music for the station and that
included their latest project which is
outstanding!
"Just Like
The Old Days" is the name of the project
and the first song. It's an upbeat
song that you will enjoy as it reminds
us of "singing His Praises just like the
old days!" The next song is no
stranger to Southern Gospel fans.
Vocal Union does a wonderful job on "Get
Away Jordan." I'm not sure you
have truly heard this song until you
have heard an a cappella version of it.
Christmas is next! At least a
Christmas song is next. The guys
do a great job on "Beautiful Star Of
Bethlehem."
"In The
Palm Of Your Hand" is a very strong song
in the message reminding us of God's
Faith and Grace. "There Have Been
Healin'" has an almost spiritual feeling
to it. It's a neat song in that it
goes through many of the healing in the
Bible. The CD jacket even
references the scripture verse for each
one! "Wake Up" is an outstanding,
up tempo song that encourages the
unsaved to "Wake Up" and accept God's
Salvation. The song then goes on
to encourage the Christian's to "Wake
Up" and get out there to tell others
about Christ! "Remind Me Dear
Lord" is the next song and this great
old song I had all but forgotten about.
I loved hearing the Dottie Rambo song
again and hearing the great message once
again.
The Nelons
sang a song years ago that I loved
titled "Walk Right Out Of This Valley."
Vocal Union tackles it on this project
and it is awesome! Speaking of
classic songs from yesterday, the next
song on the project is "In My Robe Of
White." Of course, this was a huge
Gold City song years ago but you will
enjoy the Vocal Union version as well.
The final song on the project is "He
Gave His Life" and I really like the
message of this song.
Vocal Union
is an assembly of some incredibly
talented guys. I enjoy a cappella
music when it is done well and these
guys are some of the best I have ever
heard. The song selection is very
good and it is a nice mix of older songs
and some songs that are a little less
familiar. The production is high
quality as are the vocal presentations.
My favorite songs on the project are
"Just Like The Old Days," "Get Away
Jordan" and "Remind Me Dear Lord."
The entire project is first class all
the way as you get some great Southern
Gospel Music, a cappella style!
