There are a lot of trios in Southern Gospel Music these days but there are few in the class of the Mark Trammell Trio. This group hit the ground running and has turned out great project after great project. Their latest effort is another exceptional recording from this very talented group.
"I Know That I Know" is an upbeat song and I cannot think of any better way to start this project. The song gets the listeners attention right away with the harmonies and great message. Things slow down tremendously on the next song. "Loving The Lamb" is the title of the song and once again the harmonies are exceptional. The tempo picks up once again with "Called In Called Up Called Out." This is a song that the listeners will enjoy and it speaks of the calling that God puts on our life!
"What Good Would A Crown Be" is a song with a unique perspective of arriving in Heaven. It asks a simple question of what good would a crown be in the presence of Royalty? It's a neat song that we should all take the time to listen to. "Safe On The Glory Side" is an upbeat song that is another song about heading the Heaven when we die! The next song has a catchy tune that you will enjoy. The song, titled "If God Said It I Believe It," also has a powerful message in it about the power of God's Word. I also enjoy the slow ballads that talk about the power in God's Name. This next song, "At The Whisper Of His Name," fits that bill.
The next cut on this project is good, old fashioned Southern Gospel singing at its finest! "I Always Have A Song To Sing" sounds like it is straight out of the singing conventions of many years ago and I very much enjoyed it. "If Only Just A Few" is one of those songs that will make you stop and think. It reminds us that the sacrifices for Christ are well worth it if only just a few believe. The final song on this project is "Coming Out And Moving In." This is another terrific song about that day we cross over to Heaven.
The Mark Trammell Trio has a history of singing the traditional style of Southern Gospel Music as good as anyone ever has. Their harmony is tight and very solid and the song selection and production is always top notch on all of their projects. That being said, I believe this project is a cut above what they have done in the past. This is one of the few projects that crosses from great to exceptional. My favorite songs from this project are "I Know That I Know," "At The Whisper Of His Name" and "I Always Have A Song To Sing." If you are a Southern Gospel Music Fan this project is a must have.
