Ivan Parker is a true veteran of Southern Gospel Music. I first remember Ivan with Gold City in the 1980's but his history goes back even further than that with groups like the Singing Americans. Ivan has been a soloist for several years now and his latest solo effort is another good one.
"You Can't Take My Crown" gets the project off to a rousing start and Ivan delivers a solid performance on this fast paced song. "Inseparable" is the title song to the project as well as the next track on the project. It's a touching song with a powerful message. "Keep Testifying" is a song written by Sandy Knight and you will enjoy this up tempo song. The song reminds us to keep testifying in our every day lives!
"I'll Do The Miracle" is a song from another current songwriting legend. Rodney Griffin wrote the song and it reminds us that God will do the miracle and we can do what is possible. "Mercy" is something that we all receive from God on a daily basis and the song by that title reminds us of the power of God's Mercy. "Home At Last" tackles a subject that I enjoy! It speaks of that day we arrive in Heaven. "Alright" does a fine job of reminding us that no matter what we face everything is going to be alright as long as we allow God to be in control of our lives.
"Don't Give Up" is a decree to not give up no matter what you face. It goes on to remind you of the importance of prayer and that God will be enough in the end. "Campmeeting Days" was written by Geron Davis and the song remembers those times of going to attend campmeetings and all of the great things that were associated with them. The final collection of songs on the project is medley appropriately titled "Great Medley." The songs in the medley are "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," "How Great Thou Art" and "How Great Is Our God." It is a perfect ending to a truly enjoyable project.
You certainly do not need me to tell you that Ivan Parker can sing. If you have followed Southern Gospel Music for the past few years, you already know that. What I can tell you is that Ivan still has a powerful lead voice and he continues to use it to record quality Southern Gospel Music. Ivan's latest project has ten great songs and the production from the Crossroads people is top notch as usual. My favorite songs from the project are "Campmeeting Days," "Mercy" and "I'll Do The Miracle." The project is another outstanding effort from Ivan and you should get a copy as soon as you can.
